Willie Jay Jarvis was born September 28, 1931 in Mustang to Searcy and Veta (Calvert) Jarvis. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and other than military service lived his entire life in Cleveland and Canadian counties. He attended Banner Rural School. Jay was a jack-of-all-trades, including but not limited to driving a milk truck; helping his parents run a dairy and farm and build his Mom's dream house; bricklaying; raising pigs, cows and horses; chopping cotton; and growing, cutting and baling hay. He was a man who lived life on his own terms, helping his friends and neighbors but rarely asking for help.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Herb and Rob, sisters Ruby and Wanda, brothers-in-law Raymond and J.T., and sisters-in-law Dorothy and Pauline.
He is survived by his sister Oleta, brother Otis, brother-in-law Jack, niece Patsy and nephew-in-law David plus a multitude of cousins, double cousins, other nieces and nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2pm, Friday 2/4/22, at Mustang Cemetery.
