William "Bill" Leroy Marley

William LeRoy Marley, 88, of Norman, OK and Ft. Myers, FL passed away Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023. He was born November 20th, 1934 in Larned, Kansas to John Walter Marley and Ethel Luella (Schultz) Marley.

William, known to friends and family as “Bill”, was attending Ottawa University in 1957 when he met Joyce Ann Hasten, who would later become his wife and be beside him for over 65 years.

In 1965, he started a construction business, Aztec Inc. in Duncan OK with his brother Wayne, later joined by his brother Bud. Throughout his life, he progressed Aztec into a successful Design-Build Commercial Construction company. Now known as Aztec Building Systems, it still operates today in Norman, Oklahoma as a second-generation family business run by his three sons and nephew Chris Strait.

For many years Bill and Joyce enjoyed taking RV trips across the country, but once they discovered Ft Myers Florida, they knew they had found their second home. For 20 years they split their time between Norman and Ft. Myers and made many close friends through the years.

Bill was a lifelong man of faith and was proud to serve as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Norman since 1995. He was also a devoted member of McGregor Baptist church in Ft Myers. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister; Lois J Strait; brothers, John W Marley Jr (Bud), and Wayne E Marley. William is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Ann (Hasten) Marley; sons, Steve and his wife Gina, Jeff and his wife Kathy, Dirk and Kem Marley; his grandchildren, Brett and his wife Emily, Brooke and her husband Zak Anderson, Sean and his wife Ashley, Blake Marley, Daxton and his wife Shannon, Kolin and his girlfriend Brylee Hinson; and his great grandchildren, Macy, Mycah, and Merritt. He loved them all unconditionally.

The family will be present to receive friends for visitation from 2 p.m.– 4 p.m. Sunday, October 8th, 2023 at Tribute Memorial Care in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 9th, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Norman, officiated by Pastors Wade Smith and Joey Armstrong with interment following at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman.

Memorials may be made in memory of William to the First Baptist Church of Norman, McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, or the Michael J Fox Foundation.
