Wilhelmine E. Folks

Wilhelmine Elizabeth (Kuhlman) Folks of Norman was born on December 4, 1921 to Fred J. And Pauline (Hansmeyer) Kuhlman. She died at the age of 95 on Saturday, May 20, 2017.

Wilhelmine was a lifelong resident of Norman. On October 26, 1947 she married the love of her life, Ethen A. Folks, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Wilhelmine and Ethen, along with their family, were charter members of University Lutheran Church, which was established in 1964. Wilhelmine enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting and ceramics. She was also active as a Sunday School and VBS teacher, and she sang in the choirs at Trinity Lutheran and University Lutheran Church for over eighty years.

Wilhelmine was preceded in death by her husband Ethen A. Folks, parents Fred and Pauline Kuhlman, brothers Herbert Kuhlman and Ernest Kuhlman, and grandson Travis A. Fast. She is survived by daughters Elaine Fast and husband George of Midwest City and Janell Cannicott and husband Steve of Norman; son Rand Folks and wife Susan of Pottstown, PA; sister Pauline Kahle of Milford, NE; grandchildren Ambra Thelin of Choctaw; Sandi Fast of Moore, Sara Folks and husband Greg Highsmith of Peekskill, NY, Jedediah Folks of Pottstown, PA, Jarod Cannicott and wife Kim of Norman, and Krista Cannicott and spouse Mindy Sprecker of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren Aaron, Alex, Alyssa, Ayden, and Ayson Thelin of Choctaw, Sara and Jacob Fast of Moore, Carter and Rose Cannicott of Norman, and Felix and Sefton Folksmith of Peekskill, NY.

The celebration of Wilhelmine’s life will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 25th at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church (1601 W. Imhoff Rd, Norman) with burial following at IOOF Cemetery in Norman. Visitation will be at Tribute Memorial Care (708 24th Ave NW, Norman) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24th.
