Wanda K. Hess graduated from this life by ascending into glory on January 27, 2022, while a resident at Harbor Chase in Oklahoma City. A caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Wanda (who’s given first name was Rose) was born at home on March 10, 1927, in Ligonier, PA to Alfred C. Kinsey and Mildred (Zimmerman) Kinsey. She grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Coraopolis, PA high school in 1944.
Wanda worked as a switchboard operator and later met Edward F. Hess and they were married on June 28, 1947. Due to Ed’s job demands the Hess family moved quite frequently living in Alabama, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Kansas City, New Jersey, and finally in Oklahoma. Wanda was privileged to serve in leadership at Christian Women’s Clubs for many years. Husband, Ed, preceded her in graduation to heaven in 1993.
Survivors include her son, Bruce A. Hess (Janet) of Norman, OK; daughter Linda G. Hageman (Dale) of Norman, OK; daughter Laurie A. Kopf (Rob) of Niles, MI; younger sister Elaine Jarrell of Folcroft, PA; eleven grandchildren: Rebekah Key, Emily Hess, Kyle Hess, Jennifer Malthaner; Rachel Hageman, Sarah Blue, Jessica Curran; Kaylin Richardson, Dustin Kopf, Aaron Kopf, and Brandon Kopf; along with 23 great grandchildren.
