Vernon Eugene Landreth was born September 16, 1938 in Ada, Oklahoma to Vernon Ezell Landreth and Alice Vera (Hallum) Landreth. He passed away in Blanchard, OK on November 12, 2022.
Vernon married the love of his life, Joretta Sorge in 1965 and they raised four children, Mike, Lisa, Steve, and Robert. Vernon was very passionate about his work and golf, and he made several holes in one. He loved to jog, workout and even ran several marathons. Vernon loved spending time with family and watching the kids play sports. He enjoyed reading about history, westerns, and self-help books. He also enjoyed Elvis’s music and classical music. When watching tv, you just might catch him watching an episode of “The Three Stooges.”
He became a CPA in 1969 and practiced accounting for over thirty years. He worked for several different companies including Kerr McGee and the Hesston Corporation before opening his own public accounting practice in the early 1980’s. He loved his work and helping his clients. Vernon was also a member of Sertoma which stands for “SERvice TO Mankind”, Shriners and Lions Club.
Vernon is preceded in death by his wife; son, Mike Landreth; parents; daughters-in-law, Karen Landreth and Kelly Landreth; brother, Raymond Landreth; sister, Betty Lou Landreth.
He is survived by his sons, Steve Landreth and his wife Rhonda of Norman, Robert Landreth and his wife Misty of Norman; daughter, Lisa Greer and her husband Chris of Houston, TX; brother, David Landreth and his wife Mary of Carlsbad, NM; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The family would like to suggest memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. No services are scheduled at this time.
