Troy C. Mcbrayer

Troy Curtis McBrayer of Norman was born on February 16, 1926 in Haworth, Oklahoma to Jesse Ervin and Una (Voyles) McBrayer. He passed on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, at the age of 91.

After graduating high school Troy went to work with his father before being drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in World War II. He was proud to serve his country and he was awarded with two Bronze Stars for his service.

After leaving the military Troy held several jobs, but settled into the heat and air profession, where he worked until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Reina, in 1981 and they were together for 25 years before her passing in 2006. After Reina’s passing Troy moved to Norman, where he made many special friends and lived until his death.

Troy was preceded in death by: parents; wife Reina (Bray) McBrayer; and infant daughter Elizabeth Ann McBrayer, born of his first marriage. He is survived by: sister Ruth Parker of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter Becky Pruitt of Llano, TX; grandson Kyle McBrayer; step-sons Bill Bray and wife Judy of Norman, Bob Bray and wife Patricia of Suwanee, GA, and Randy Bray and wife Debbie of Norman; a niece and a nephew; and numerous other relatives.
