Timothy Ray Smith

Timothy Ray Smith, age 79, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at his home in Norman, Oklahoma.

Tim was born August 25, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee to James R. and Eunice Mae (Stewart) Smith. However, when he was a small child his mother married James Goddard who raised him as his own. Tim was proud to call James Goddard his father. Tim grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and Norman, Oklahoma. Before his senior year his family moved to Virginia Beach where he graduated from high school. Shortly after graduating, he moved back to Oklahoma where he met the love of his life, Sharon Leeann Meyers. They were married on October 16, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Tim and Leeann settled in Norman, Oklahoma where they had two children Patricia Lee (Patti) born April 21, 1967 and Michael Jay born July 8, 1968. Tim was a devout Christian. He and Leeann were charter members of Bethel Baptist Church in Norman where Tim was a deacon. After raising their children in Norman, Tim and Leeann decided to move to Colorado in the summer of 1989 where they lived until Leeann went home to Glory and Tim moved back to Norman to live with his son and daughter-in-law. In Colorado, Tim and Leeann became active members of College Heights Baptist Church and later Living Water Bible Fellowship. Tim was a tradesman in the mobile home industry for more than 40 years. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything broken. He could also play numerous musical instruments and loved to sing. He taught Sunday School and was also a youth minister for a time when the need arose. He enjoyed trout fishing, reading theological books, and was a beautiful calligrapher. He was a jokester, had an infectious laugh and a great smile. Tim loved Sooner softball, was patriotic, and was passionate about taking a stand. His family will miss him dearly but is thankful that because of his faith in Jesus, he is finally HOME!

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eunice Goddard and his wife of 57 years, Leeann Smith.

He is survived by his daughter Patricia Lee (Smith) Siglin and husband Dennis of Norman, OK; son, Michael Jay Smith and wife Angela of Norman, OK; four grandchildren, Michaela (Smith) Staton and husband Cole of Moore, OK; Garrison Siglin of Norman, OK; Abigail Siglin of Norman, OK; Brooks Smith of Norman, OK; one great-grandchild, Rosalie Siglin of Norman, OK; brothers, Jim Smith and wife Diane of Summerville, SC; Jack Goddard and wife Deborah of Dallas, TX; Bill Goddard and wife Cherry of Edmond, OK; Steve Goddard and wife Denise of Norman, OK; sister-in-law Karen Riley and husband Mike of OKC, OK; and a host of family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church 1717 W. Lindsey St. Norman, OK with Dr. Matt Brown officiating. Online condolences may be shared at www.tribute.care.
