Thomas Dean Loeffelholz

Thomas “Tom” Dean Loeffelholz was born April 19, 1956 in Norman, Oklahoma to Alois “Al’ Loeffelholz Jr. and Jeannene (Wampler) Loeffelholz. He passed away peacefully from this life September 10, 2020 at home with his wife by his side in Norman, Oklahoma. He graduated from Norman High School in 1974 and went on to the University of Oklahoma graduating with B.B.A. Finance in 1980.
He was employed by the Security National Bank & Trust Company in Norman for eight years beginning in 1972. His other employers include with Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was an Account Executive, Liberty Bank & Trust Company, N.A. in Oklahoma City for thirteen years where he was Vice President, Municipal Bond Trader and Underwriter. He was also a former President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Board of Directors of Municipal Rating Committee of Oklahoma, Inc.,and former Vice-President of Oklahoma Municipal Bond Dealer Association.
Tom was with the Boy Scouts of America, an Eagle Scout and received the God and Country Award. Tom loved sailing, cycling and golf. He leaves behind numerous sailing family members. (Ahoy Mates). He was in the North American Hobie Class Association in 1988 & 1989. He was a fourteen Turbo National Champion. (two time Tommy Turbo). He was also President of the Bicycle League of Norman in 2002 and a Regional Bicycle Racing Official.
He married Joyce (Draper-Taylor) on April 3, 1999.
Tom is preceded in death by his father, grandparents; Ray and Hattie Wampler, Al Sr. and Anna Loeffelholz, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins, in-law.
He is survived by his wife; Joyce Loeffelholz, stepson; Ronnie J. Taylor and wife Casey, grandchildren; Christina, Brianna, Luke and Ava Taylor of Enid, OK., mother; Jeannene Loeffelholz of Norman, OK., brothers; Bruce Loeffelholz of Norman, OK., Kurt Loeffelholz of Norman, OK., sister; Lee Ann (Loeffelholz) Nelson and husband Jeff Colwell of Tulsa, OK., brother-in-law; Jerry Draper and wife Kim of Potoeu, OK., and beloved nieces, great-niece, nephews, and cousins.
To my grandchildren, I may not see you every day, or talk with you every day, but I think of you and Love you every day!!
Throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails.
He didn't ride a bike to add days to his life. He rode the bike to add life to his days.
Walking down the fairway of life you must stop to smell the roses, for you only get to play one round.
