Terry Lynn Thompson passed away suddenly on March 6, 2025. He was born October 19, 1958, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Fines W. “Pete” and Winona B. (Ross) Thompson after moving their family to Lexington, Oklahoma from Oklahoma City in 1967.
Lexington was the hometown of Terry where he attended Lexington public schools. During his junior and senior years, Terry attended Mid America Vo-Tech in Wayne, Oklahoma. He also began his first job at United Grocery in Purcell, Oklahoma. After graduation, he ventured into truck driving with his dad, working at Jacobson Concrete in Purcell, Oklahoma. He soon moved over to work with his brother David at Norman Concrete. Later, he drove 18-wheeler across local states for Malone Products.
On July 12, 1986, Terry married Debra Heinrichs, and they made their home in Norman, Oklahoma. In 1997, they welcomed a daughter Jamie.
In 2000, Terry bought his first truck and began hauling products for Walmart out of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma until 2007. He then purchased a dump truck and drove for Sand Express, Milligan Trucking, Vickers, and then started his own trucking business Thompson Trucking.
Terry was a “jack of all trades,” but fishing and cruising on his motorcycle were a few of Terry’s favorite past times. He was also a huge OSU fan.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; Fines “Pete” & Winona Thompson, sister, Linda Thompson, niece Michelle Teel, and mother-in-law Kathryn Heinrichs.
Survivors include his wife Debra of Norman, Oklahoma, and daughter Jamie of Moore, Oklahoma, brother David Thompson of Norman, Oklahoma, sister Patsy Christian and husband Randy of Noble, Oklahoma, and a host of family and friends.
Terry leaves a void and will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 1:00 PM at Tribute Memorial Care, located at 4300 West Indian Hills Road Norman, Oklahoma.
