Susan L. Boutwell

Susan L. Boutwell, 81, of Norman, OK met her Eternal Father on September 25, 2023, after a long, full life. She was born January 5, 1942, in Bowie, Texas to Salamis McCarver (Mack) Fuller and Mona Jim Fuller.

She was a devout Christian who loved serving her church and others. She attended Nocona Public Schools. She met her future husband, P.A. Boutwell, at a Church of the Brethren picnic. They were married on June 1, 1957. Susan was a caring daughter, loving sister, devoted wife, wonderful mother, doting grandmother, nurturing aunt, and loyal friend. She worked in retail after her daughters grew up, finishing her career owning her own gift store.

P.A.’s work took them from Nocona to Woodward for several years, before settling in Duncan. She was lovingly and proudly involved in her girls’ lives as: Brownie troop leader, Sunday school teacher, Methodist Youth Fellowship parent sponsor, volunteer on various church committees, including Staff Parish Relations Committee and United Methodist Women. One of Susan’s greatest joys was making a loving and welcoming home for her family and friends. She was an accomplished cook, a gifted designer, an avid bridge player, and enjoyed traveling with her family and girlfriends. She continued learning with various courses taken at the technology center. She made all those who spent time with the family feel cared for and special. One of Susan’s greatest joys was her family. She made it a priority to attend her daughters, grandson, nieces and nephews’ activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and her brother Mack Henry (Buddy) Fuller. Susan is survived by her daughter Pam Moore and her husband Trent; her daughter Mendy Boutwell; her grandson Tyler Moore and his wife Katherine; her great-granddaughter Merritt Grace and her great-grandson William Patrick; her sister-in-law Hope Fuller; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation for will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Tribute Memorial Care in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Wendi Neal. Interment will be following at Nocona Cemetery in Nocona, Texas.
