Susan “Sue” Fentriss Dolman of Norman was born on September 26, 1938 to Harlan Stevenson and Virginia Mae (Hopkins) Trower in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She passed on June 19, 2017 at the age of 78.
Sue was raised in Tulsa, where she attended Central High School, graduating in 1956. After graduation she went to the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in Fashion Arts and Marketing. After college she married her college sweetheart, Mickey Fentriss, and they settled in Norman, where they raised their three sons, Ford, Jeff, and Mark. Sue spent her working life helping her husband in his many businesses, volunteering with local non-profits and her church, and running a wholesale silk tree and plant business. Her greatest, and most fun, accomplishment of her adult life was attending and supporting all of her sons’ sporting activities.
In 1991 Mickey passed away, and five years later Sue met the second love of her life, Jim Dolman of Ardmore, a college acquaintance she had not seen in 35 years. They were married on November 2, 1996. Jim and Sue moved to Ardmore where Sue took up gardening and grandparenting. She also enjoyed crafting and painting, delighting in opportunities to express her creative side. Sue believed in the timeless art of sending handwritten letters, and she was a gifted calligrapher. She loved playing bridge, golf, and tennis with her friends as well as attending social luncheons.
Sue was preceded in death by: two husbands Mickey Fentriss and Jim Dolman; parents Harlan and Virginia Trower; brother Terry Trower. She is survived by: three sons Ford Fentriss and Josie of Norman, OK, Jeff Fentriss and Cindy of Southlake, TX, Mark Fentriss and Lee of Nashville, TN; three step-children Steve and Jennifer Dolman of Houston, TX, Bill Dolman of Ardmore, OK, Kathy Dolman Grane and Carl of Plano, TX; brother Steve Trower of Dallas, TX; sister Pat Garrett and Ed of Raleigh, NC; fifteen grandchildren: Cayman, Kyla, Evan, Haley, Hannah, Parker, Joshua, Emily, Josephine, Nina, Waverly, Hayden, Carson, Kevin and Caroline.
