Shirley Ann Rider was born February 10, 1935 in Lexington, Oklahoma to Thomas Clark Waddle and Mary Louise (Kees) Waddle. She passed away on March 6, 2021 and was welcomed into Heaven’s gates with her next breath.
Shirley was a proud graduate of Norman High School class of 1953. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School class there. She was an avid reader, computer game junkie, any type of card game, gospel and country music. Traveling North America and Europe, Mexico and of course Walt Disney World. Every morning would find her reading the Bible. Family was her love. Holiday gatherings were especially important to her. Faith, family and fun describe her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 wonderful years, Jimmy Rider, brothers; Don Waddle, Bob Waddle, sister-in-laws; Gerri Waddle, Carolyn Waddle, and son-in-law; Christopher Tyler.
She is survived by her daughter; Becky Tyler of Tulsa, daughter: Cindy Goode of Norman, son; Randy Rider and wife Connie of Norman, brother; Keith Waddle and Shirley of Norman. Eleven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and special friend; Donnie Hightower. Also many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr. Joe Riddle who she worked with for 30 plus years. He was more than an employer, he and Jodi were family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Senior Ministry of First Baptist Church Norman or Arthritis Foundation.
