Shannon Deann Wells, 67, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10th, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home with her husband and two children present. She was born on April 16th, 1957 in Frederick, OK to Kenneth Cheek and Dorothy Venita (Murphy) Cheek. She graduated from high school in Davidson, OK in 1975 and was the Valedictorian of her class. She also had one year of college at Cameron University in Lawton, OK. She worked at the Dairy Kream restaurant in Davidson, OK and was swept off her feet by Michael Lee Wells, the one who always ordered not one, but two hamburgers and an order of fries. They were united in marriage on January 9th, 1976 at the First Baptist Church in Davidson, OK. They lived on the family farm for 9 years before moving to Clinton, OK in 1985. Shannon held several jobs over the years, including working at Clinton High School as a secretary and as the pastor secretary at First Baptist Church Clinton. They left Clinton and moved to Yukon, OK in 2004 and then later moved to Norman, OK in 2013. Shannon began working for Edward Jones Investments as a Branch Office Administrator in 2004. She worked hard and achieved becoming a Senior Branch Office Administrator until her retirement in 2021. Her faith in Jesus Christ was strong and the foundation for which she lived her life. She was a member of Northeast Baptist Church in Norman, OK. She was blessed with the spiritual gift of hospitality and exhortation. Everyone felt welcomed and was always well fed before leaving the Wells household. She also had a heart for giving. She always believed it was better to give than to receive. She loved her husband and her two children, Ginger and Cody. She was so proud of who they became and would be quick to talk about her kids and grandkids with anyone. She was always their #1 encourager and fan. She was a great cook and she had such a big heart for children. She was strong willed and a fighter, persevering through countless life battles, yet never giving up. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Cheek; a sister, Rita Pate and a nephew, Christopher Nease. Survivors include her husband Mike Wells of Norman; daughter Ginger Thibault of DuPont, WA and son Cody Wells and wife Nicaela of Fort Smith, AR; Sisters, LaDonna Sanders of Frederick, OK and Gayle Cosgrove Calvillo of Frederick, OK; Nieces and nephews including Scott Nease and wife Patricia, Randy McLain and wife LouAnn, Ricky McLain, Robin Coronado and husband Mark, Erin Cosgrove-Neugebauer, Shaunda Ramo and husband Steven; and five grandchildren including Reed Clymer, Ephram Wells, Hayden Thibault, Zane Wells, and Kyah Wells.
