Sandra Kay Busby

Sandra Kay (Carpenter) Busby of Noble was born to Arvell Alexander and Vera Clara (Gallemore) Carpenter on June 26, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She entered into her Heavenly home at the age of 75 on Saturday, June 16, 2018, surrounded by family.

On October 6, 1961 she married her best friend and love of her life, David Busby, in Norman, Oklahoma. In 1976, Sandra made a home for her and her family in Noble, where they resided for 42 years.

Sandra was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church in Norman, faithfully serving her church community. She cherished the relationships built through involvement in her ladies’ Bible study. Sandra was selfless, kind, and compassionate, always putting others’ needs before her own.

Sandra loved her family and embraced every opportunity to spend time with them. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and took delight in individually connecting with each one.

Sandra also enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, playing games with her family, creating beautiful stained-glass pieces, and cooking for others.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her half-brother, Don Carpenter. She is survived by: husband David Busby of Noble; son Chris Busby and wife Chris Alison of Edmond; son Scott Busby and wife Glenda of Edmond; daughter Lisa Hill and husband Randy of Noble; sister Judy Dodson and husband Gary of Norman; nine grandchildren: Melissa Busby, Jessica Hill and husband John, Rebecca Busby, Amber Ingram and husband Josh, Kara Zerby and husband Keaton, David Scott Busby, Hannah Kalk and husband Jacob, Luke Hoy, and Katelynn Hill; eight great-grandchildren: Maverick, Abel, and Jack Zerby; Elijah, Cadence, and Ezra Ingram; Jaxon Kalk; Jett Hill; and many, many friends and family.
