Sabrina Ann Johnson, 56, of Norman, passed away on August 28th, 2022, at home. Sabrina was born on May 10th, 1966, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Billy and Sylvia (Faulk) Johnson. Sabrina is survived by her parents of Norman; siblings Mark and wife Carla, Billy and wife Jamie, and Erin; niece Jessica and nephews Jeff and wife Edith, Preston, Grayson, Rance, and Braden; great-nephews Jackson, Ryker, and Eli, and many other family members and friends. She leaves behind her well-loved pets, her dog Sousa, and her cat Dew.
The family originally made their home in Mustang, OK, but soon relocated to Lexington, OK, where Sabrina started kindergarten. She graduated from Lexington High School (LHS) in 1984 and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the OU College of Nursing in 1989. She earned her master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in 2002.
Sabrina was a talented person who possessed many gifts but was best known for her exceptional intelligence. She was consistently at the top of her class. She was also ambitious with a strong work ethic. This combination led to academic achievements and awards over the years too numerous to name. Notably, she was the LHS Class of 1984 valedictorian, finished in the top five in her nursing program at OU, and received the David J. Falcone Award presented to the top Health Administration student for outstanding achievement in her master’s program. When you went somewhere with Sabrina, it was a safe bet that you were with the smartest person in the room.
Sabrina’s career took off when she got out of school. She would go on to hold several positions of leadership over the years with healthcare companies both in- and out-of-state. She worked as an RN starting out and later was the Director of The Cath Lab/Nuclear Cardiology Dept. at Integris Heart Hospital, then Director at Broadlane traveling the country and Canada. She later became the VP of Client Management at Broadjump.
Sabrina had many interests including cooking, gardening, travel, and politics, but chief among them were music and sports. She was an active participant in, and a fan of both. She was in band and was the beloved drum major of the 1983-84 Lexington High School Band. She continued playing music throughout her life and was taking piano lessons at the time of her passing.
Sabrina lettered in basketball, softball, and track while in school. She was an outstanding athlete and fierce competitor. As an adult, she played in a women’s soccer league in Oklahoma City and was an avid golfer. She was a huge fan of OU football and softball, as well, and loved watching women’s world cup soccer.
A foodie who loved to cook, Sabrina enjoyed growing her own food and preparing dishes for friends. She was a dog person who was never without one or two companions. Before her health began to fail, she traveled frequently and visited many places, some exotic, around the world. Sabrina was a passionate, fun-loving, accomplished person. She was also a funny, loving, and loyal friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
