Rick L. Miller

Rick Miller of Norman was born in Vinita, Oklahoma on January 5, 1951 to Garland and Joyce (Fisher) Miller. He passed away in OKC on February 3, 2017 at the age of 66.

Rick grew up in Miami, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Miami High School in 1969. He earned his associates degree in business from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. He moved to Norman in 1971, where he attended the University of Oklahoma, and studied business administration. He married the love of his life, Debbie Thompson, June 7, 1975.

He worked for Safeway/Homeland starting in high school, continuing his career for a span of 30 years. He then began a new career at Hobby Lobby that lasted for 15 years. His 5 years of retirement included spending time with his family, traveling, reading, bee keeping, and riding his Harley. He was passionate about his Cherokee heritage, and studied the Cherokee language and history. He was an avid OU sports fan, attending many OU baseball and hockey games. In 40 years he never missed a televised OU football game. Above all, Rick was an honest and loving man. He was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Miller; sons Zac Miller of Norman and Clayton Miller of Oklahoma City; daughter Suanne Livingston and husband Patrick of Norman; grandchildren Hannah, Lizzy, and Jack Livingston and Nicole, Morgan, and Landon Miller; brother Randy Miller of Moore; sister Joy Thomasson and husband Wayne of Quapaw; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
