Richard Asa Walker, 78, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on February 11, 2025. Services are entrusted to Tribute Memorial Care of Norman.
Richard was born on June 5, 1946, in Syracuse, New York, to Harold and Erika Ruth (Wohlfahrt) Walker. Later in life, he moved to Oklahoma, where he found a home in Norman. He was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, earning his bachelor’s degree before dedicating his life to his passion for automobiles. As a Master Auto Mechanic, Richard specialized in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, earning a reputation for his exceptional skill and craftsmanship. He loved working with his hands, solving mechanical puzzles, and ensuring that every car he touched ran at its best.
Beyond his technical expertise, Richard was a kind-hearted and generous man who always prioritized taking care of others. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing his knowledge, or lending a listening ear, he made a lasting impact on those around him. His dedication to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth Walker. He is survived by his sons, Ronald Shane and Steven Walker and his wife Crystal; his grandsons, Michael Walker, Conner Ruttkiewicz, Zakary Walker, and Oliver Walker; his brother, James Allen Walker; and his beloved Goddaughters, Laura Whitaker and Alissa Whitaker.
Richard’s legacy of kindness, hard work, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family and friends will forever remember his dedication, wisdom, and the many ways he made the world a better place.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Richard’s life and the love he shared with so many.
