Polly Gail Knapp Hall entered Heaven on June 30, 2023. She was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma on December 31, 1937, to William Jackson and Lucille Dunn Knapp. Polly moved to Anadarko, Oklahoma in her eighth year of school where she excelled in all she undertook including being the 1957 Class President of Anadarko High School and the Salutatorian. She participated in numerous activities during those years.
She moved to Norman upon graduation and worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone company as an operator prior to her marriage to Stanley Lynn Hall on June 7, 1958, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She attended the University of Oklahoma while raising their three children.
While living in Norman, she co-owned a wedding reception business for several years prior to opening Christmas Expression in 1975 with her best friend, Donna Couch. Together, Polly and Donna ran the holiday decorations and gift store for 20 years. She loved to garden and decorate for all the holidays. Polly’s love for Christmas and all her Christmas decorations were well known. She was also a charter member of the Hallmark Keepsake Collectors Club. Despite working, decorating, and gardening, her focus was her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Polly is preceded in death by her husband, Stan Hall, her parents, William Jackson and Lucille Knapp, her sisters, Betty Jameson and Jeannie Blythe as well as her brothers, Jack and Paul Knapp.
She leaves behind her three children: Holly L Schmidt and her husband Dr. Rick Schmidt of Purcell, OK; Greg G Hall and his wife Brenda of Norman, Oklahoma; and Heidi R LaChance and her husband John of Danbury, TX.
Polly was a loving Grandmother to seven grandchildren: Ashley Hall LaGace and her husband Jake Self of Lexington, OK; Dr. Stephanie Schmidt Harvey and her husband Dr. Marvin Harvey of Norman, OK; Shannon Hall Rogers and her husband Scott of Chickasha, OK; Sarah Smoot Masterson and her husband Blake of Oklahoma City OK; Logan LaChance and his wife Kirsten of Dickinson, TX; Nathan Schmidt of Goldsby, OK; and Schaeffer Schmidt and his wife Bethnee of Pauls Valley, OK. She was also the proud Great-Grandmother to eleven.
Polly leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and friends as well.
A family gathering will take place to celebrate her life at a later date.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Polly’s name to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research: P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or online at donations@michaeljfox.org
