Phyllis Gage

Phyllis Van (O’Donley) Gage, 87, was born December 2, 1935 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on June 7, 2023 in Norman, OK. She was a long-time resident of Norman. A devout Christian, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Norman for over 51 years. She graduated from Anadarko High School in 1953, and married Charles (Chuck) Gage, her high school beau, on July 3, 1953.

Phyllis was a devoted, loving, wife and mother. She loved her husband and raising her children. She loved gardening and spent countless hours working in the yard. She remembers fondly her part time office assistant job at Cleveland and Monroe. She followed Norman High and OU sports for years. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy. She was at every activity possible, be it sports, music or dance recitals.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Coyt and Agnes O’Donley; brothers, Don, Eldon, and Lionel O’Donley. She is survived by her husband Charles (Chuck) Gage; a sister, Marlene Bedoka of Anadarko; son, Gary Gage and wife Lee Ann; daughters, Kelly Adkins and husband David, and Connie Hillerman and husband Karl all of Norman. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ryan Gage and Amanda Baranski, Grant Gage, Taylor Perry and husband Tyler, Carey-Jayne Weingartner and husband Josh, Andrew Jimerson and wife Traci, Julianne Christiansen and husband Andy, Savannah Hillerman, Gage Hillerman, and ten great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Sooner Station Memory Care and Tender Care Hospice for their wonderful, loving care in her last days.
