Noah Brooks, 73, formerly of Norman, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 in Midwest City. He was born on November 1, 1944 in Lula, OK to Isaac N. Brooks and Ruby (Duncan) Brooks.
After graduating from high school, Noah proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1970. He began his civilian career at Tinker Air Force Base, which continued until his retirement in June of 2003 after a combined service of 30+ years. In March of 2000, he married Carol (Skelly) Brooks, whom he adored. They made their life together in Norman, until recently. Together they joined Noah’s three children and Carol’s three children into a blended family, which has produced thirteen adorable and much loved grandchildren.
Noah was a member of the American Legion and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also an active member of CrossPointe Church, where he taught Sunday School classes, sang in the choir, and volunteered at Ranch Camp in Ada Oklahoma. Throughout his life he enjoyed shaping young peoples' lives by being a volunteer coach for various sports, teaching school, volunteering at Royal Family Kids Camp, being a youth minister for several churches, and by going to South America on mission trips. Noah was an avid reader of scriptures and applied his understanding to daily life; he never missed a chance to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
You might have seen Noah jogging to prepare for the Senior Olympics or playing golf. One of his favorite things to do was watch various OU sports like football, men’s and women’s basketball, and softball. Noah and Carol looked forward to attending OU’s away games because of the great friends they made along the way. Noah was also a proud graduate of CSU (now UCO).
