Myra Elaine Anderson

Myra Elaine Anderson (Perry) was born on February 7, 1943, at University Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to J.R. Perry and Betty Page (Edgemon). She passed away on March 14, 2025, at her home in Norman, OK, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by love at the age of 82.

Myra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, GiGi, and sister. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured the moments spent with her loved ones.

Myra is survived by her children, Debbie Shrewsbury, Bobby Anderson, and Laura Beal (Terry); grandchildren, Grant Beal, Jared Shrewsbury (Jennifer), Tara Hagar (Travis), Jordyn Williams (Austin), and Whitney Beal (Taylor Smith); several great-grandchildren; and siblings Mary Coxen, Cindy Young (Al), Richard Page (Mary), and Mike Page (Betsy). She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, J.R. Perry and Richard and Betty Page; and her infant grandson, Adam Shrewsbury.

Throughout her life, Myra showed a deep love for her family and her beloved fur babies, always putting the needs of others before her own. Even in her final days, she never wanted to burden her family. When asked how she was feeling, she would say, 'I’m fine.' Myra will be remembered for her great sense of humor. Though she insisted she wasn’t nosey, she could often be found peering over the fence or down the street—just to see what was going on.

In the late 1970s, Myra began working at Sears and eventually became a manager in the hardware department—a rare achievement for a woman in Oklahoma at the time. She loved telling stories about how the 'Bubbas' reacted when they asked for the manager, only to realize that the petite, beautiful woman standing before them was, in fact, the one in charge.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Serving as pallbearers will be her beloved grandchildren and their spouses.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local animal shelter in Myra’s name, continuing her love for animals.
