Mitchell Griffith

March 12, 1974 — January 29, 2022

Mitchell (Mitch) Lee Griffith, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at age 47. On March 12, 1974, he was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Roger Griffith and Charlotte (Wallenberg) Reynolds.

Mitch was a class of 1992 graduate of Norman High School where he played his sport of passion, soccer. He adored “Coach D” and had a bond with his teammates that lasted a lifetime. Mitch maintained many close relationships with friends from elementary school, high school, and fraternity brothers from the University of Oklahoma. Mitch loved to organize reunion events to ensure his friends all remained connected. He continued as a member of the Norman community for a large part of his adult life while residing part time at Lake Texoma. Mitch had a career as a petroleum landman for over 20 years.

Mitch had many passions in life, but none greater than spending time with his nephew Garrett Griffith and niece Mia Griffith. He loved being at his lake house with his beloved dog Mesa, who traveled everywhere with Mitch. Mesa accompanied Mitch on golf cart rides, boating excursions, and even his travels. Mitch loved traveling with friends and could be found on a ski slope, golf course, or hiking the beautiful outdoors in his free time.

Mitch had a contagious laugh and was known to brighten any room he entered. He rarely met a stranger and loved being with people. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Anyone that knew Mitch, knew he had a heart of gold.

Mitch was preceded in death by his father, Roger Griffith, nephew Parker Griffith, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Mitch is survived by his Mother Charlotte Reynolds and Stepfather Dick Reynolds of Norman, Brother Brian Griffith (Rachel) of Norman, Nephew Garrett Griffith of Norman, Niece Mia Griffith of Norman, nephew Kingston Paredes of Norman, stepsister Lee Reynolds of Norman, Uncle David Wallenberg (Nicki) of Moore, Uncle Les Griffith (Karla) of Houston Texas, Cousin Tina Floyd (Robert) of Norman, Gina Carson (Brann) of Houston and Kayla Towle (Christopher) of Houston.
