Michael Earl Fite was born April 13, 1955, in Sacramento, California to Robert Earl Fite and Edith Ann (Ford) Fite. He passed away December 22, 2022.
In his teen years, the family moved from California to Elk City, OK. When he was 18, he began working in various oil field jobs as a roughneck. In 2001 he transferred to Oklahoma City working as diesel mechanic for Darr Equipment. He married the love of his life, Jeannette Carol Estes January 13, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He later opened his own business called H&H Equipment working as a rig mechanic. In 2014, Mike was able to fulfill his dream of working offshore with H&P Equipment. In 2015, he retired at the age of 60.
Not one for being able to sit around, he and his wife started working for people they knew at an RV Park where they owned a vacation home. He was known as being one of the hardest working retired people around. In 2021, him and his wife sold their home in Moore and moved to Cedar Blue.
One of Mike’s hobbies was collecting model trains. He even had a 400 square foot room added to the house for his trains. He also collected metal for scrapping. Some people called it junk collecting, but his wife called it hoarding. He purchased a 2 acre plot of land for his scrapping hobby. He was very proud of his “RV farm”.
Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelby Ann Fite, and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; daughter, Michelle Fite; son, Elisha Fite, son, Michael (Layne) Fite; daughter, Emma Penick; son, Rowdy Cloyd; daughter, Jennifer Copelin and her husband Brad; son, Danny Buettner and his wife Cami; granddaughters, Abbie (Hollywood) Copelin, Lanie (Fluff) Copelin, Kate (Peanut) Copelin, Finley Fite, Jayde Fite; grandsons, Cade Buettner, Brentley Buettner; and a host of other family and friends.
