Melinda Carol McCorkle died March 27th, 2021 with her family by her side in Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. McCorkle was born, Melinda Carol Casey, on March 14th, 1957 at Pepperell Air Force Base Hospital, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.
She is survived by her husband, Mike McCorkle of Norman, OK; daughter Casey Fisher and her fiancé Derek Stevens of Norman; stepsons and their spouses, Chris and Sarah McCorkle of Norman, Josh and Sarah McCorkle of Macon, Georgia, and Jake and Kristin Fisher of Oklahoma City; granddaughters Mollie Custar and Zoe McCorkle of Norman, MaryBeth & Hannah McCorkle of Macon; sister Donna Herrick of Wellston, OK; and, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, JR and Joann Casey (née Greer).
Melinda loved to travel and enjoyed the natural wonders that she encountered. She was especially fond of camping at the lake, the dramatic colors of autumn, and traveling the mountainous western states.
She was an avid photographer and artist, painting pictures of the countryside that she explored. Her mind never stopped, as she enjoyed the challenge of a jigsaw puzzle, making scrapbooks, cooking with her granddaughters, the company of family around the kitchen table, and listening to music.
Melinda is lovingly remembered as a caring wife, mother, and grandmother; and a fiercely loyal friend.
