Mary Patricia Tobin

Mary Patricia Tobin was born May 12, 1947 in Atchison, Kansas to Jack Kyle and Doris Jane (Gorrell) Smith. She passed away at her home on February 17, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Pat grew up in Atchison with her parents and four brothers: Mike Smith, Dave Smith, Tony Smith, and Roger Smith. She enjoyed reading, swimming, and playing baseball as a child. Pat attended Central School, Sacred Heart, Mt. St. Scholastica, and St Mary’s. She was married to James Michael Tobin Sr. on November 8th, 1969 at Sacred Heart Church in Atchison, KS. Pat was a dedicated RN working in oncology for most of her life, which was her passion.

Pat was preceded in death by Tony Smith (brother), James Michael Tobin, II (son), and James Michael Tobin, Sr. (husband). She is survived by Casey Tobin (son) and his son Christopher Smallwood and Sandy Tobin (daughter) and her four children: Andrew Tobin, Anna Tobin, Owen Gething, and Bonnie Segura. Pat is also survived by brothers Michael Smith (wife Barbara), Dave Smith (wife Kathy), and Roger Smith (wife Teresa), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her dog Buttercup.

Pat was a founding member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Norman. She volunteered at St. Mark and several other churches in Norman, as well as at Birth Choice.
