Martha Ann Kuwitzky-Graves

August 10, 1939 — January 30, 2016

Martha Ann Kuwitzky-Graves, 76, passed from this life on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Norman, OK. She was born to Vernon Jack Frye and Mildred Faye (Howard) Frye in Stillwater, OK, on August 10, 1939.
Martha married Scotty Kuwitzky in November 1955 in Gainesville, TX starting a family soon thereafter in Norman. Scotty worked several jobs to support their young and growing family, while Martha cared for their three boys. She served her family well as a homemaker, chef, taxi driver, encourager, disciplinarian, and fan at untold football, baseball, and basketball games. She loved to read and, later in life, enjoyed her time in real estate and retail operations, as well as traveling with family to Hawaii, Florida, South Carolina, and San Francisco.
Martha, along with Scotty, will be remembered fondly and gratefully for a legacy marked by an independent spirit, ethical, respectful, disciplined behavior, and a strong work ethic. The fruits of their labor are evident in the lives of their sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.
In 2006 Martha married Bill Graves and they made their home in Norman.
She was preceded in death by one son, Vernon Keith Kuwitzky; two husbands, Carl Scott Kuwitzky and Bill Graves; and her parents.
Martha was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Norman, OK.
Martha is survived by two sons: Carl (and Katherine) Kuwitzky of McKinney, TX; Chris (and Cheryl) Kuwitzky of Norman; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jill Frye of Ada, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Bruce Anthony of Dallas, TX; 7 grandchildren: Kolby Kuwitzky, Kate Kuwitzky, Chelsea (and Michael) Bowlan, Chase Kuwitzky, Jackie Kuwitzky, Jake Kuwitzky, and Chad Kuwitzky; and many nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Crossroads Hospice and Arbor House Assisted Living Center (Norman) for the tender, compassionate care they provided.
