Marsha Jan (Bailey) Kennard

1947-2023

Marsha Kennard, 75, of Oklahoma City passed away on May 31, 2023. She was born on November 23, 1947, in Oklahoma City, OK to Marshall and Jo (Hitt) Bailey.

Marsha grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from John Marshall High School before attending both Oklahoma State University and Northeastern State University. During a summer break from college, she met her husband of 53 years, Clay Kennard, who she married on September 19, 1969. After 17 years of marriage, they had their first and only child, Chad Kennard. Over the years, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going on family vacations, watching her son play golf, attending OU and Thunder games, volunteering for various organizations, and loving her fur babies. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved the Lord and demonstrated patience and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Clay Kennard, son, Chad Kennard, daughter-in-law, Chelsea Kennard, two grandchildren, Olivia and Marshall, brother, Greg Bailey, sister-in-law Debra Bailey, and nieces, Amber Stocco and Lindsay Winders.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 17, from Noon-3pm. The celebration will take place at Papa Dios Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar located at 10712 N May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
