Luann Doss

LuAnn Doss, 62, went to be with her heavenly father on April 22, 2020. She was born January 4, 1958 in Norman, OK. to J.D. and Emmy (Ratcliff) Buckley.
LuAnn grew up in Midwest City, OK., and married her high school sweetheart Daryl Doss in 1976. She began her career working at Cleveland Bailey Elementary School in Midwest City for nineteen years. LuAnn and Daryl moved to Norman, OK., in 2004 where she continued working for Adams Elementary School for seven years before retiring in January of 2020.
LuAnn loved Bible studies and was a Bible study teacher at Bethel Baptist Church. She loved reading all types of books. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and writing poetry. She enjoyed being a Special Olympics Volunteer and was a beloved cook at Falls Creek for several years. She loved to bake and would make chocolate chip cookies all year round for their neighbors and cream cheese bread at Christmas time.
LuAnn’s fun-loving spirit was enjoyed by elementary children for 26 years and by her grandchildren alike. She loved singing the “Lollipop” song and “I Love You a Bushel and a Peck” with her grandchildren. LuAnn adored her family and will be dearly missed.
LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents J.D. and Emmy (Ratcliff) Buckley. She is survived by her husband Daryl; daughter Jessica Brandon and husband Jon of Norman, their children Dillon and wife Jessica of Norman, Dalton and wife Madeline of Norman, and Jason of Norman; Katie West and husband Evan of Jenks, their children Levi and Brooks of Jenks; siblings Charlene and Earl Massey of Ft. Smith, AR.; Paula and Larry Warner of Norman, Joel and Melanie Buckley of Midwest City and several nieces and nephews.
A come and go visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Monday April 27th, Tribute Memorial Care Event Center, 708 24th Ave NW, Norman, OK. LuAnn’s family is hopeful to have a celebration of life in June or July for family and friends. Private family services will be held.
