Lovie Drain

Lovie Novadene (McCalip) Drain, 87, of Norman joined the Lord on December 31, 2019. She was born in Norman on July 26, 1932 to Homer Ellis and Ollie McCalip. On July 2, 1949 she married James Drain in Crawford County, Arkansas. They lived in Keller, Texas for some time, before eventually making their home in Lexington, Oklahoma.

Lovie and James adopted their son Jamie & daughter Becky in 1963. She continued to make Lexington her home after James passed away. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and playing games (especially Dominoes) with her family. She loved to keep in touch with her family. She often called her sister up to ten times a day. She often gave out candy at church, especially peppermints.

Lovie will be joining in heaven her beloved husband James Drain, her parents Homer & Ollie McCalip, three of her brothers Leroy McCalip, Floyd McCalip, Kenny McCalip, three of her sisters Leota Powers, Jeraldine Parnell, & Ruby Mize. She is survived by her son Jamie Drain, daughter Becky Drain Searcy (Terry), brother James McCalip, sister Pat Mize, grand-daughters Tina Keyser (Kelly) & Dawn Searcy, and her dear friend Velma Cottrell.
