Lorraine Provine of Norman passed away March 8, 2017. She was born October 6, 1944 in Altus, OK to Claud Allmon and Emmie Lorraine Gasper. Lorraine was a graduate of Altus High School, the University of Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State University.
Lorraine met her husband, Joe Provine, at OU, and they were married on August 14, 1966 in Oklahoma City. Lorraine taught math at Ponca City High School for over 20 years. She and Joe retired in Ponca City and moved to Norman in 1999. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Patches Quilting Organization. Lorraine enjoyed quilting, reading and puzzle solving. She was an avid OU Sooner Fan and loved to attend OU sporting events.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Joe Provine of Norman, OK; one daughter, Sharon Auld and husband Tony of San Antonio, TX; one son, John Provine of Houston, TX; one sister, Claudine Kriss of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren, Jordan Auld and Jack, Joey and Julian Provine; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
