Linus P Chism, 92, of Norman passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021. He was born May 2, 1929 in Oklahoma City, OK to Linus Parker Chism and Katherine Richuber Chism.
He attended Capitol Hill HS and at the age of 15, joined the U.S.M.C. Reserve. Shortly thereafter, his reserve unit was activated and called into service during the Korean Conflict. He was a survivor of the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir and member of the Chosin Few.
Linus retired from the FAA as an Aircraft Mechanic and enjoyed several other endeavors before retiring at the lake. Flying was his passion and he enjoyed many hours in the air, both personal and business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three older sisters, his first wife, and his beloved daughter and stepdaughter. He is survived by his wife of 25years, Betty, two stepsons, Kevin Ott and Rick Whitfield, and one stepdaughter, Angela Butler, one brother, Tommy, and his wife Margie. He is survived by numerous Grandchildren and great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will begin at 11:00am, Monday, July 12, 2021 at Slaughterville Baptist Church, 10101 60th Street, officiated by Kurt Henry.
Final resting place will be at Ft Gibson, 02:00pm, Tuesday, July 13, 2021, also officiated by Kurt Henry.
