LaDean, 70, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away on August 26, 2020 peacefully at home. LaDean was a lifelong resident of Norman and graduated from Norman High School, Class of 1967. She went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and graduated with a B.S. in Education. LaDean taught school for several years until deciding to fulfill her duties as a full time mother raising her two children, Heather and Robert, Jr. As her children got older, LaDean found a new career in advertising and worked for many years at the community newspaper, The Norman Transcript, prior to retirement.
In retirement, LaDean enjoyed alumni activities with her sorority and had many community friends that she cherished time with, especially at Altrusa. She participated in supporting her grandchildren's many activities and enjoyed watching them in dance, cheerleading, baseball and basketball. Her favorite pastime was doing crossword puzzles, cross stitch and researching family genealogy. She never missed her beloved OU football and basketball games on TV.
LaDean is preceded in death by her father; Ralph Hodges, mother; Dean Henderson Hodges. She is survived by her daughter; Heather Campbell Harvey of Edmond, son; Robert Campbell, Jr. and wife Jacqlyn Campbell of Owasso; grandchildren; Haven, Grayson, Hadley, Benjamin and Mary-Cate.
A private memorial service will be held in honor of LaDean due to COVID-19 concerns, with her final resting place to be with her cherished father and mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
