Kirk Edward Johnson was born December 8, 1972 in Ada, Oklahoma to Kenneth and June Johnson. He passed away on June 7, 2022 in Norman, Oklahoma.
Kirk graduated from Ada High School in 1991, where he was a member of the varsity golf team. He then went to the University of Oklahoma where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1995. Kirk then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1998.
Kirk practiced law in Ada, Oklahoma and Las Vegas, Nevada before going to Chickasaw Nation Industries (CNI) in 2006 as Assistant General Counsel. In 2011, he was named General Counsel of CNI and he was serving in that role at the time of his passing. He enjoyed his job and the people with whom he worked at CNI.
Kirk loved going to OU football games with his friends and family. He loved to take his old Toyota 4Runner to Colorado for off-roading and camping in the mountains. He was also a car enthusiast, owning several sport cars over the years, and he enjoyed tinkering with and fixing his vehicles. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at OU and maintained close relationships with his fraternity brothers throughout his life. Kirk had a sense of humor, at times dry, and he enjoyed teasing and giving his friends a hard time. Kirk would never decline an opportunity to talk politics or current events.
Kirk is survived by his wife Katsey Slamans Johnson; his step daughter Isabel Grace York; his parents Kenneth and June Johnson; his brother Tim Johnson, Tim’s wife, Lisa and their children Macy and Colton; and many special cousins and extended family.
