Kimbra “Kim” Lynn Dewbre, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 9, 2024, in Norman, Oklahoma. Born on September 20, 1956, in Perry, Oklahoma, to Elmo and Mary (Coleman) Manley, Kim lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth “Ken” Dewbre, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 50 years and one week; her daughter Kasandra “Kasi” Dewbre, to whom she was a proud and loving mother; and to her cherished grandchildren, Lilyth and Athena Dewbre-Burrows, to whom she was a doting Oma (German for grandma). Kim's love for her family was immeasurable. She frequently mentioned feeling blessed to have been involved in her grandchildren’s lives from the moment each was born.
In addition to her immediate family, Kim is survived by her sister, Regona Klinger, and her husband Jack, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Gary Manley and Gerald “Dusky” Manley, and her nephews Scott Manley and Doug Klinger.
Kim retired from the University of Oklahoma in 2009. She had a zest for life and a variety of passions, including a love for hummingbirds, OU women’s basketball, scrapbooking and card making, and solving word and number puzzles. Her warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
A celebration of Kim's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones and friends.
