Kevin Jay Brown

Kevin Jay Brown, 53, of Norman was born in Oklahoma City on December 22, 1962 to Donald Dwight and Velma June (Nelson) Brown. He passed on July 29, 2016.

Kevin and his family moved to Norman in 1972 and at the age of 17 he began working for Taco Mayo. At the time of his death he was still with Taco Mayo as an owner/manager of the restaurant in Ada. Kevin married the love of his life, Cynthia Kay Snider (Cindy) on May 28, 1983 at the First Christian Church in Norman, where they remain faithful members.

Kevin had a passion for golf and was a member of the Westwood Thursday Night Golf League. He loved skiing and fantasy football and was a huge Denver Broncos fan. He was also a vital member of the family business, Goddard Christmas Tree Farm, in Norman.

Kevin was preceded in death by: his Granny and Papa, Lester and Ina Mae Nelson; his aunt, Erma Nelson; and his cousin, Jeri Nelson.

Kevin is survived by: wife Cindy of the home; son Dillon Miles Brown and wife Shannon of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Taylor Mae of Norman; mother Velma “Judy” (Nelson) Jackson of Norman; brothers Donald Scott Brown and wife Robin of Noble and Rex Brown and wife Sandy of Norman; and uncles Kenneth Nelson and wife Nancy of Edmond and Roger Nelson and wife Diane of Guthrie.
