Kathy Lynn Vanderburg was born in Prague, Oklahoma, November 4, 1960 to Royce Gene Ellison and Dolores Sydell Ellison (McCubbin). She was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus October 19, 2020 after a hard fought battle in which she never gave up.
Kathy met Dewayne when she was sixteen and he was fourteen years old. They later married on November 24, 1984 in Norman, Oklahoma. Early in her career she worked for Mitchell’s Jewelry and the Cleveland County Abstract before going to work for West Star, operating as a landman.
She loved spending time with family and friends, watching OU sports, traveling, coaching girls basketball, and was an avid dog lover. She loved her dogs Oscar, Lela and grand-dogs: Bella and Henry.
She is preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law; Betty Vanderburg.
She is survived by her husband; Dewayne, son; Michael Vanderburg, daughter; Amy Hill and husband Logan, brothers; Curtis Ellison and wife Glenda, Johnny Ellison and wife Dawn, brother-in-law; Randy Vanderburg and wife Sonya, nieces; Taylor Vanderburg, Kristina Parcupile, nephews; Jon Michael Ellison, Jeffery Ellison, father-in-law; Danny Vanderburg, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
