Kathleen C. Sumpter, a resident of Norman, celebrated her first day in Heaven on the morning of December 29, 2019.
Kathleen was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on February 28, 1963 to Clifford & Willa Sumpter. She spent most of her childhood in Vian, Oklahoma. Kathleen received her Bachelors’ degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and her Masters’ degree from Liberty University. She was a Licensed Professional Counselor and passionate about her career as a Drug & Alcohol Counselor. Kathleen enjoyed listening to audio books and she really loved music. She both played & taught the piano. She also loved attending church and was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Norman.
Kathleen is survived by her son Bob Andrew Long & his wife Beth of Houston, TX; sisters Tambra Gowin & husband Bruce of Norman, Rhonda Hutson & husband Kim of Lake Tenkiller, and Cindi Frazier & husband Michael of Norman; grandchildren Meadow, Lily, Sage, & Andrew; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other friends and loved ones.
She joined in Heaven her son David Allen Long; her parents Willa & Clifford Sumpter; maternal grandparents Clem & Viola Skaggs; paternal grandparents Andrew & Almeda Sumpter; and her beloved guide dogs Kappy & Weslee.
