Joretta Landreth

Joretta Ann (Sorge) Landreth of Norman passed on March 18, 2018 at the age of 80. She passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed!

She was born to Timothy Henry and Evelyn (Womack) Sorge on September 10, 1937 in Walters, Oklahoma.

She attended The University of Oklahoma and East Central University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Joretta obtained her CPA license and went to work for the IRS as an agent. Joretta later joined her husband Vernon at his CPA firm Vernon E Landreth CPA Inc where she worked for over thirty years until her retirement. Joretta was enamored with her home and decorating. During her life she collected many collectible plates, Christmas trees, and home decorations. One of her favorite items was a plethora of lamps in various styles and designs.

Joretta was preceded in death by: parents Timothy and Evelyn Sorge; brothers Gerald, Stephen, and Karl Sorge; and daughters-in-law Kelly Landreth and Karen Landreth. She is survived by: husband Vernon; sons Mike Landreth of Oklahoma City, Steve Landreth of Norman, and Robert Landreth and wife Misty of Norman; daughter Lisa Greer and husband Chris of Houston; sister-in-law Mary Jo Sorge; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
