John Russell Stiehler of Tuttle passed at the age of 61 on April 20, 2019. He was born to Ronald “Ron” Douglas and Virginia Lee (Cooper) Stiehler on November 27, 1957 in Odessa, Texas.
John was a hard worker with a strong work ethic; some would even go so far as to call him a workaholic. When he wasn’t doing his day job as a self-employed pest control inspector, he was his family’s handyman. John also loved to cook, grill, and barbecue, but he was known for his queso. He highly valued his family time, traveling to Colorado and Hawaii with his wife and son and attending Thunder games, hiking, biking, and watching sports with his son.
John was preceded in death by: mother Virginia Stiehler; second mother Pat Stiehler; paternal grandparents John and Ruth Stiehler; and maternal grandparents Russell and Winnie Cooper. He is survived by: wife Jill of the home; son Andrew Stiehler of Tulsa, Oklahoma; father Ronald Stiehler of Norman, Oklahoma; mother- and father-in-law Bill and Rosemary Boeckman of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother Doug Stiehler and wife Joyce of Norman; brother-in-law Mark Boeckman and wife Gail of Benton, Arkansas; nephews Dougie Stiehler of Norman and Luke Boeckman of Alabama; and nieces Tressa Lyon, husband Scott, and son Cody of Norman and Abbey Boeckman of Benton; and a host of extended family and friends.
Contributions in John’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 24th at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Norman (1601 W. Imhoff Rd).
