Jim L. Williamson

Jim was born on December 24, 1960 in Oklahoma City. He was raised by his grandparents, James and Norene Deloach in Norman.
Jim graduated from Norman High School in 1979. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 1984, Jim worked at a big 8 accounting firm. Jim joined the Office of the City Auditor in 1988 and was appointed City Auditor in 2008. Jim held several positions with the Association of Local Government Auditors including President and Peer Review Committee Chair. Jim authored and co-authored numerous articles and guides published by ALGA and was a frequent speaker and instructor at ALGA sponsored events. Jim was also Past-President of the Institute of Internal Auditor’s OKC Chapter. Jim served as Past-Chair on the Peer Review Oversight Committee for the Oklahoma Accountancy Board.
Jim was a loving husband and father. Family was everything to him. Jim loved being outside, working on his land, being on his tractor, relaxing by the pool. He was always involved in sports and fitness. OU football was a great passion of his. Jim’s priority was always his daughters whether it was helping them with school projects, coaching their soccer teams, playing board games, or just sitting down and talking with them. He never missed their volleyball and soccer games. Jim was their biggest fan of all time in everything they chose to do.
Jim is survived by his wife of 31 years Susan, his daughters JuliAnne and Ashlee, his brother Terry and sisters Lecia, DeAnna and Gina, and many nieces and nephews who he adored. We will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Cross Pointe Church, 2601 24th Ave SE, Norman on Friday, February 18th at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank.
