Jerry Dean Dickinson was born on June 19, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to James Alfred Dickinson and Jonnie Lou (Couch) Dickinson. He passed from his earthly life and into the loving arms of Jesus on November 11, 2020.
Jerry served in the Naval Reserves for two years. He was a past president of the North OKC Rotary Club. Jerry was a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner, and he co-founded the accounting firm where he worked as a partner for many years. Even after retiring from full-time practice, he remained actively involved in the accounting profession until 2020. He was a quiet and reserved man, but he had a quick wit and ready laugh. He was also a man of integrity, known for his kindness and service to others. Jerry possessed a strong faith and attended First Baptist Church for over 40 years.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid reader and enjoyed going to movies. He loved traveling--the beach was his favorite destination. When his kids were younger, he enjoyed camping and fishing trips in Colorado, and he was active in a bowling league for many years. Jerry was very passionate about OU football and was an OU season ticket holder for many years.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dr. Bill Burns.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia; son Brett Dickinson and wife Margaret of Blue Mound, KS; son Cory Dickinson of Norman, OK; daughter Sharla Haight and husband Byron of Owasso, OK; grandchildren Sheridan Lindley of Tulsa, OK, Cole Lindley of Oklahoma City, OK, and Hunter Dickinson of Norman, OK; sister Shirley Brooks and husband Ken of Redmond, OR; sister Teresa Anne Burbank of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law Becky Burns of Pelham, AL; sister-in-law Roberta Thompson of Butler, MO; brother-in-law Jim Cox and wife Carol of Pittsburg, KS; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
