Jeffery Ted Sparks

Jeffery Ted Sparks passed away on September 1, 2017 at the age of 54, after a valiant battle with cancer. He touched many lives with his positive outlook on life, need to help others, love for family and wonderful sense of humor.

Jeff was born September 27, 1962 in Chickasha, OK, graduated from Mustang High School and attended University of Oklahoma where he was in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. After meeting and marrying the love of his life Gwen, he proudly served over 8 years in the United States Marine Corps. Later in his career he achieved his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.

After his discharge from the military he worked for Allied Signal Aerospace as a Program Manager for eight years; then staying in the same industry with two other companies as Project Manager. He found his calling in 2008 working in Financial Services; he loved being able to help others achieve financial independence and helping them attain their dreams.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Gwen; two sons Richard Sparks of Olathe, KS and Joshua Sparks (wife Mattie) of Lenexa, KS. He was blessed with four grandchildren (his barrel of monkeys), Parker, Bailey, Karli and Caden. He is also survived by his mother, Lavern January and step father Myron January, sisters, Vivian Sparks, Teresa Cleaver (husband Clifford), Sherry Sparks and step brother Chris January (wife Laura) and step sister Carol January. Jeff is predeceased by his father, Teddy Richard Sparks, sisters Ricki Sparks and Donna Jo Rey.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tribute Memorial Care (708 24th Ave. NW, Norman) and funeral service on September 6, 2017, 2:00 pm, at Emmaus Baptist Church (16001 South Western Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK). Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman.
