Jana Quattlebaum, a pillar of strength and love, departed from this world on February 17, 2024.
Leaving behind a legacy of laughter, warmth and compassion. Born on September 20, 1957, she lived an extraordinary life. She touched the lives of many with her sweet spirit, infectious laughter, and genuine concern for others.
As a devoted mother, Jana poured boundless love and support into the lives of her children, Amanda, Amelia and Zandrea. Her home was a sanctuary of love, filled with laughter, guidance, and a comforting presence that will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind. Unconditional love was paramount in her parenting and she continually poured this out over all three girls and sons-in-law.
Jana cherished her close relationship with her sister Darien. They spent many years raising the three girls side by side. She cherished their life experiences traveling the world, exploring new places with their parents. The companionship found between them in this life was a blessing to both and all those they touched together. They built a beautiful life and legacy, giving their girls the most priceless gift - family. As siblings their steadfast love and support for each other were unmatched.
As a Grandma, who was affectionately called “Mamoo”, Jana was truly extraordinary. She had a unique ability to bridge generations, connecting with both older and younger grandchildren in a way that made each one feel uniquely special. Jana made the most of every precious moment with her grandchildren, imparting not only love but also so many memorable moments of laughter they will cherish forever. Whether making farm sounds, telling them about the three little pigs or creating new memories through shared adventures, she cultivated a bond that transcended age. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, kindness, and a genuine interest in the lives of each grandchild. Heartfelt conversations and encouraging texts with the older ones. Playtime in the kitchen or in the backyard with the littles. Her absence will be felt and the memories shared cherished forever.
Jana was not only a nurturing family member but also a cherished friend to many. Her selfless acts of kindness, words of encouragement, and unwavering support endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She had an innate ability to host a friend, host a party or house full of kids. Her home and heart were open to anyone seeking a place to call home. Many would consider her a Bonus Mom or Best Friend.
She was dedicated to her career as a Registered Nurse. Jana spent many years serving our community at Norman Regional Hospital as an RN in the Emergency Room and Surgery. Prior to returning to her nursing career, Jana owned a formalwear store in Brookhaven Village. Many friends and family visited “Southern Charm” for their prom, pageant or wedding attire. She found so much joy in this industry and all those that she built relationships with during those years. In recent years she loved to cross stitch, draw and paint alongside her Granddaughter. The beach was her happy place and any chance to travel was a true joy and something she looked forward to.
Her memory will forever live on through the love she shared and the lessons she imparted. Jana Quattlebaum is survived by Children; Amelia Andrews, Zandrea and Bryan Waldenville, Amanda and Bryce Nail; Grandchildren, Blakely and Ty Waldenville, Hadley and Henley Nail; Sister and Brother-in law Darien Quattlebaum-Moore and Bob Moore; Niece, Megan and her husband Andrew Guffin, who will carry on her legacy with the same love and grace that she exemplified throughout her life.
