Jameil Dsean Barnett-Leggett

Jameil Dsean Barnett-Leggett was born November 14, 1996 to Angelia Barnett and Lavell D. Leggett at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. His life ended on December 7, 2017.

Jameil attended Wilson Elementary School, Longfellow Middle School, Midwest City High School, and Norman North High School, where he graduated in 2015. He was employed by Imperial Vending in Oklahoma City, and he attended St. John Baptist Church in Brooksville, OK.

Jameil had a great love for basketball, and for the LA Lakers, specifically. He also enjoyed watching football and playing video games. Since he was a child, Jameil looked up to Kobe Bryant and Tupac Shakur. He always made family time one of his top priorities, making sure to make memories that will last forever.

Jameil had a smile that lit up the entire room upon entering, and his contagious laugh would turn any day bright. He had the biggest heart and the kindest soul, and he would do anything he could to make someone’s day better or to help in any way he could. Jameil had recently decided to go back to school, with an interest in Chemistry.

Jameil is survived by: future wife Megan Bardgett of Norman; mother Angelia Barnett of Norman; father Lavell D. Leggett of Midwest City; uncle Isaac Bridges of Midwest City; brother Micah Barnett of Norman; sisters Elizabeth Barnett of Norman, Alanah Barnett of Norman, Annalise Barnett of Norman, and Avery Barnett of Norman; maternal grandparents Willis and Beverly Warren of Norman; paternal grandmother Wanzetta Sampson of Midwest City; and a host of family and loved ones far and wide.

Jameil was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Fraizer and Tressie Huggins, and his paternal great-grandparents, Curtis and Frankie Sampson.
