Herman E. Livesay

Herman E. Livesay was born to William Clinton and Ruby Clair (Smith) Livesay on November 6, 1938 in Lamesa, TX. In 1974 Herman married the love of his life, Delaine Dearen at Cudadvacunya, Mexico. Herman was a proud veteran of the US Army. After leaving the Army, Herman began work in the oil fields. He loved the oil patch and worked in the industry for 60 years, pretty much his whole life, and he loved teaching his boys about rigs and the oil fields.
Herman was a man of many interests and talents. He liked to play the slots at the Riverwind Casino and the Ada Gaming Center, and he loved to watch WWE on his 70 inch TV. He was an avid follower of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Herman was a huge fan of John Wayne movies and Gun Smoke. He not only liked to watch Westerns; he liked to live them out through raising cattle on the farm. He was a self-proclaimed “math whiz” and his favorite color was green, because it was the color of money. Herman loved to eat orange slices and he always had a big bowl filled with retro candy nearby for all the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, six brothers, and his son, Gary. He is survived by: wife Dewey Delaine Livesay; sons Sam, Edward, Jim, Tom, Dee, Jason (Buck), and Willie; daughters DeLisa and Jana; 31 grandkids; 30 great-grandkids; brother Albert; sisters Vanita and Rose.
