Grady Lee Womack

April 24, 1934 — August 23, 2020

Grady Lee Womack was born April 24, 1934, in Altus, Oklahoma to Carroll Grady and Lovie Mae (Gowan) Womack. He passed from this earthly life and into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on August 23, 2020.
He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. Grady met the love of his life, Patricia, and they married on July 23, 1962 in El Reno, Oklahoma. They raised four beautiful daughters; Susan, Janie, and step daughters Sherri and Lynn in Norman, Oklahoma. He served as a manager at several local companies, including Schwartz meatpacking plant.
He enjoyed coaching his kids and grandkids and always supported them in their sports. He shared his love of sports with his family while cheering on the OKC Thunder, OU football, and the OU women’s softball teams. Grady will be remembered as a humble man who had a funny, ornery streak. He enjoyed doodling, and was quite artistic. He also enjoyed going fishing, when he was younger. One of his many talents included baking. He was quite proficient at making our family's well known fudge and brownies. Grady enjoyed volunteering at the Streams of Water food pantry at the Alameda Church Of Christ.
He was big on family and his belief in God. He was baptized at 68 years young for the second time, the reason being he wanted to make sure he would see his wife in heaven. He taught Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and he was a children’s leader. The book of Psalms was one of his favorites. His favorite scripture was Micah 6:8. He loved sharing the bible with fast-food workers at places such as McDonald’s, Braum’s, Hassler’s, and Kendall’s. There wasn’t a place that was off-limits for sharing the word of God. He was a great disciple for God, and his family and friends couldn’t be more proud of the Christian man he was.
He was the best dad, the best father-in-law, the best Grandpa, and best big grandpa. He loved his family and they loved him! His passing will leave a great void in the family.
The family would like to send their deepest gratitude to the caregivers of Loving Care Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; his parents Carroll and Lovie Womack; and his sisters Vita Marie Edwards and Carolyn Mitchell.
He is survived by his daughters Susan Helton and husband John of Norman, OK.; Janie Stephens and husband Eric of Newcastle, OK.; Sherri Coggins of Norman, OK.; Lynn Cornett of Norman, OK.; ten grandchildren; Lecia Hopkins, Erica Trowman, Drew Stephens and Kristina, Hannah Helton, Abigail Helton, Billy Cooper, Chuck Cooper, Candy Cornett, Jesse Cornett, and Mark Cornett, and twelve great-grandchildren.
