Gerald D. "Jerry" Guy

Gerald D. “Jerry” Guy was born on September 23, 1927 to Harold K. Guy and Margarite (Draper) Guy in Ypsilantii, Michigan. Jerry went to be with his heavenly Father on July 9, 2019, in Norman.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1963, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma. He sang in the church choir and worked with the Royal Ambassadors. In 1964, Jerry married the love of his life Julia Ann, and they have been together for 55 years.
Jerry began his career with the City of Norman in the Street Department, and later in the Personnel Department. He retired after 20 years as the Safety Director/Risk Manager. Jerry loved attending OU football and OU women’s basketball games. He was a season ticket holder for the women’s games for 18 years. Jerry’s favorite memories as a Sooner fan, involved being a security guard for both Barry Switzer and Billy Tubbs.
Jerry leaves behind his wife Julia Ann of Norman, and son Jeffrey S. Guy and wife Susan of Wayne, PA; Grandsons Jason W. Guy and wife Ruth of Findlay, OH and Andrew S. Guy and fiancé, Sara of Wayne, PA; Brother-in-laws J. Duane Will and wife Rosina of Salina, KS and Gordon W. Will and wife Mary of Dallas, TX; Nieces Joyce Ann Marcinko of Brighton, MI, Heather Hausmann and husband Andres of Windsor, Ontario and Tiffany Taylor and husband Geoff of Dallas, TX; Nephews Tom DuCharme and wife Sheri of Brighton, MI, Bernie Dieterlie and wife Beverly of Flint, MI, Marcus Will of Chicago, IL and Joshua Will and wife Meredith of Austin, TX. Jerry was proud to be called “Pappy” by Maria Hausmann, Quinn and Lane Taylor. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Virginia Crompton and Helen Joyce DuCharme; son Michael H. Guy; Sister-in-law Vicki E. Anderson; Brother-in-laws Leo DuCharme and Jim Crompton; Nephew Jim Dunn.
