Gary Ryan Frost was born August 5,1952 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jack Alvin and Evelyn Frost. He passed away peacefully at home on September 11,2022 surrounded by close family and his beloved Pastor Linda.
Gary grew up in South Oklahoma City and loved telling the story that he was a Cradle to Grave United Methodist. Gary was raised in Asbury United Methodist Church and claimed to know every square inch of the church and even climbed on the roof on multiple occasions. He earned Eagle Scout through the Boy Scout Troop of Asbury and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1970. During the summer, holidays and week-ends Gary enjoyed adventures at the Family Farm in Wayne Oklahoma with his brother and many beloved cousins whom he considers extended family.
Gary married Belinda McDow after Graduation from OU College of Pharmacy in 1975 and they were married 47 years. He commented “we did okay for two kids that got all of their stuff in the back seat of a Volkswagen”. Gary loved the University of Oklahoma where he also earned a graduate degree in Pharmacy. He loved attending OU Football, Basketball, and Softball games and was a lifelong OU sports fan.
Gary loved the outdoors including 100 - mile cycling events, mountain climbing including a “14- er” and spending the summertime in Vail enjoying the beautiful surroundings with his family.
Gary had a long career with McKesson and together he and Belinda moved a total of 7 times across the country. They were delighted to return home to Norman in 2008. He regarded Belinda as the love of his life and was a dedicated father to his beloved sons.
After retirement, Gary became very active with the McFarlin United Methodist Men where he served faithfully the needs of the community and church. He made himself available at all times to his church family and never turned down a request for help. At the end of his life, he continued to find small ways he could serve others.
