Dr. Rosalie A. LaVon of Norman passed on March 14, 2018 at the age of 80. Rosalie was born to Arley "Andy" Sr. and Ealmer (Lancaster) Anderson on October 2, 1937 in Sasakwa, OK.
Dr. LaVon began her practice in Internal Medicine in 1968 and continued practicing until her death. She grew up in Ada, Oklahoma and graduated from Ada High School before attending The University of Oklahoma. She was a National Merit Scholar. Upon Graduating from the University she attended Medical School at OU. After Internship and Residency in California, she returned to Norman to open her practice. She was a member of First Christian Church of Norman.
Dr. LaVon was preceded in death by parents Andy and Ealmer Anderson; brother Arley Anderson, Jr.; and husband Bobby Summers. She is survived by five sons: James LaVon and wife Debbie of Ft. Worth, TX; Robert "Bob" Summers and wife Stacie of Norman; John Summers and Dr. Laurel Jordan of Ada; Steve Summers of Ada; and Terry Summers and wife Angela of Ada; nieces Laquaita and April and their families; grandchildren Lorri Michelle Russell and husband Jason Siniard; Jami Dawn LaVon; Maggie and Ella Summers; and Reagan, Elizabeth, and Charity Summers; great-grandchildren Cody and Madison Girard; Jaden and Jordyn Butts; cousins Billy Gene Davis; and Janie and Ann Lancaster of Eufaula; as well as many other friends, family, and loved ones.
