Doyle Jantz

November 2, 1929 — April 10, 2018

Doyle Jantz of Chickasha was born in Hobart, Oklahoma to Jacob P. and Edith (Voth) Jantz on November 2, 1929. He passed on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the age of 88.

Doyle was a man of many talents. In his youth Doyle raised cattle, and he always carried a fondness for the animals. His father-in-law taught him the art of concrete construction, and eventually he opened his own contracting business in the 1950’s. He remained there until his retirement from the industry in 1985. Gold and silver jewelry making was one of Doyle’s hobbies. His jewelry was featured in many places, including in the jewelry case at Lee’s Casuals, the store he co-owned with his wife Jewel until its closing in March 2007. In addition to his widespread items, he also made several custom pieces for family and friends.

Doyle was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie. He is survived by: wife Jewel Jantz; daughter Becky Showalter and husband Archie; granddaughter Heather Nicole Rosen; grandson Brandon Showalter; great-grandchildren Austin Myers, Aiden Rosen, and Joel Showalter; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and his beloved dog Rosco.
